Case study

Gallito's "Match del amor" website design

Project overview

In 2022, The Cooperativa de Leche Dos Pinos set out to create a microsite for Gallito, a well-known Costa Rican brand of sweets and chocolates with over 100 years of history.

The purpose of the site was to host a Valentine’s Day-themed campaign for February 2023.

The microsite featured two main functionalities:

  1. Match del Amor: A matchmaking activity.
  2. Correo del Amor: A tool for sending sweets to friends or loved ones.

The campaign achieved over 5,000 registrations during its run, helping the cooperative generate leads and strengthen brand loyalty.

The challenge

Design a user-friendly website allowing participants to register and choose between the two activities.

1. For the matchmaking activity, create an engaging interaction and a form for users to complete.

2. For the gift-sending activity, design a page where users could enter the necessary delivery information for their selected sweets.

My role

As the main UX and UI designer, I was responsible for the site’s functionality and user interactions. The visual design was managed by the advertising agency Orson.

UX strategy

The UX strategy involved researching visual references and proposing a dynamic structure for the microsite, tailored to the client’s objectives. After presenting the proposal and securing approval, I developed a wireframe that laid the foundation for the site’s visual design, ensuring the functionality and flow aligned with user needs and campaign goals.

Final product

Based on the design, the client worked with Orson, a design and publicity agency from Costa Rica to develop the visual identity of the site.

Additionally, it was a privilege to contribute to a campaign for a brand so iconic in Costa Rica.
